    Bought as a gift for his wife by 80968 Joseph Trevor Dunn while serving in Italy during World War 2.

    80968 Joseph Trevor Dunn, 18th Armoured Regiment, 2NZEF worked as a storeman in Auckland. Shortly after his marriage to Iris Evelyn Hankins in 1941 he enlisted for military service. Trooper Dunn served in New Zealand with the 4th Armoured Battalion for 1 1/2 years before going overseas and joining the 18th Armoured Regiment. He was briefly in North Africa and then on to Italy where he was wounded, a gunshot wound to the ankle.

    Following his return to New Zealand, Joseph Dunn trained as a painter-decorator. In 1950 he was granted a 'rehad' state rental property at 38 Anderson Avenue, Tamaki.

    He died in 1977.
