Bainbridge Bros stoneware jar, circa 1912

    Bainbridge Bros stoneware jar.

The Bainbridge Bros were operating in Auckland as makers of soft drinks during the early 1900s.

In 1910 the Auckland Star reported that the company took part in the annual Labour Day parade.Jars like these had their own vans.

"CORDIAL MANUFACTURERS. Grey and Menzies, Simmonds and Osborne, and Bainbridge Bros., manufacturers of soft summer drinks, were creditably represented. A van full of the leading manufactures from Grey and Menzies , cordial factory gave some indication of the many summer drinks available for the public. Simmonds and Osbome had four jar vans full, and each vehicle was tastefully decorated."
