    Adze (English)

  • Description

    Toki. Adze. Multipurpose tool used for carving wood and other materials. Carved from toka (stone). Dark brown in colour. Triangular in cross-section. Sharp cutting edge. Bevel surface is slightly rounded towards the bevel, concave towards the chin. Sides are polished. Front of the blade is highly polished, there is some flaking at one lower corner. The toki (adze) has only a very slight shoulder. Reduction to butt. Butt and poll are flaked.
