lamp, oil

human history
  • Description

lamp, oil. The object is a ovoid/lemon shaped oil lamp. There is a medium sized wick hole that is blackened from use. The nozzle is short and is incorporated into the body of the lamp. The filling hole is large and chipped and is located in the centre of a undecorated discus. There are lines radiating from the discus but are crudely inscribed across the nozzle. There is a small protrusion opposite the nozzle.

The fabric is pinkish terracotta with no glaze and there is a hairline crack from the discus to nozzle.
