    rectangular wooden case with metal reinforcing on corners; hinged lid with removable wind-up handle; metal fastening at front; leather carry strap (broken); on side; aperture at front for inserting wind-up handle; exterior surface of black ‘rexine’ artificial leather*

    inside lid: compartment for storing records; two metal cannisters on lower rhs for storing needles; printed paper label: HIS MASTER’S VOICE / THE GRAMOPHONE COMPANY

    inside case: side arm supporting lid when open; turntable with lever to adjust speed; fold-away needle arm and sound box, marked: HIS MASTER’S VOICE / EXHIBITION / MADE IN ENGLAND
