lamp, oil

human history
  • Kupu whakaahua

lamp, oil. The object is an oil lamp with a circular oil chamber. The chamber appears to have been slightly squashed prior to firing. The lamp has a small nozzle with a small filling hole in the centre of a very concave discus. There are four dogs leaping around the plain inner discus. The wick hole is large and the shoulder has a series of small raised circles. The fabric is dark brown almost black.
