    Trolling lure (English)

  • Description

    Te pa. Pearl shell trolling lure. The main shank of this pa is made from tifa fulu lupe (light coloured pearl shell) cut to include part of the hinge. The maga (hook point) is made from tifa, of a dark colour. The components are lashed securely together with uka tuaina (twine) of light colour. A pa is used for trolling for pelagic fish such as bonito.
