    dress, cocktail, pink guipure silk lace with pink [silk] lining, round neck, sleeveless, mid thigh length, sheath style with two long darts to front and to back of bodice, flared skirt set into zigzag seam at hips- like a godet insert, zipper to centre back, pale pink tulle binding to hem, worn to a cocktail party business function at the White Heron Hotel, Parnell and to a wedding or two, was worn with pink stockings, pink stiletto heeled shoes and hat, brought off the rack and altered to fit, donor was a recognisable figure in the Auckland social scene

    Produced by Auckland designer Colin Cole, this lace cocktail dress was purchased to attend an Auckland cocktail function teamed with stockings, stiletto heels and hat all in complementary pink. Its simple design is embellished with a flared inset in the skirt, which also reflects the rising hemlines of this fashion era.
