Paki. Dance paddle. Paki (dance paddle) is used to describe this particular dance paddle which is only used for the dance me'etu'upaki. It is made from toa (ironwood) and is carved from a large block, the handle is cylindrical in shape and the paddle itself is polished down to a thin depth. There are signs of wear and tear on this paki, a few holes and cracks along the face of the paki. Paki are made only for the me'etu'upaki and are made in one size only.

The only other dace which it would be used for, is the Fijian meke.
