This blanket was made by a member of the WISE Collective - a joint project of the Auckland Resettled Community Coalition and the ARMS (Auckland Regional Migrant Services) Trust. WISE stands for Women - Inspired - Strong - Empowered and Enterprising, and the project supports refugee background women to develop the necessary knowledge, skills, confidence and resources to start-up or contribute to activities for generating income for their families.

The two main avenues are their catering programme, and WISE Crafters. WISE women meet regularly in regional hubs across Auckland to connect, improve their English, make friends, and learn/share new skills (such as crocheting and sewing).
