  • Description

    Ke'a tuki. Stone pounder. This ke'a tuki (pounder) has been worked and smoothed from po'atu (stone). It has a large circular base, rounded and chipped at the edges with a convex pounding surface. The shaft of the ke'a tuki is cylindrical in shape though flares out towards the base. The ke'a tuki is topped with a rounded knob as a grip. The surface still shows areas of pecking near the grip area. The ke'a tuki is dark grey in colour.

    A faded red sticker is adhered to one side of the ke'a tuki.
