Fibre artist Zena Abbott helped guide the popularity of fibre art from early 1960s through to the 1980s. Abbott pioneered a number of innovative techniques and was highly skilled in creating both traditional utilitarian woven works like this skirt as well as more conceptual large scale sculptural pieces.
