    Te kaneati. Trolling lure. This kaneati is made of composite materials. The rabatan (shank) is made from te aubunga (clam shell) and is cylindrical in shape. A small perforation is made at the top of the rabatan for fishing line to suspend through. A sharpened lure point made with te wete (sting ray barb) is lashed to the base of the rabatan with te nimwaerere (human hair and coconut sennit).
