    Te kai ni katebe. Wooden bow. This kai ni katebe is carved from itai wood with a resin of raran te itai bow of wood. It is ovoid in section and curved in profile. In fifteen places along the shaft, pieces of baa ni kaina are wrapped around the kai ni katebe and further secured with cordage of te kora (coconut sennit). The centre mid-secton of the kai ni katebe is completely wrapped in baa ni kaina.
