    Spinning top (English)

  • Description

Kabukuwi. Spinning top. Consists of a half-cut te nana (coconut shell) which has been polished and the natural peak on the underside shaped even further to a sharper point for spinning. In the interior of the nana is another half cut segment of te nana placed to fit the inner convex curve of the outer shell to add more weight overall for the spinning top. Each te nana is dark brown in colour, with an outer surface of high sheen.

The interior surface of both shells are matte with scraping visible from the previous removal of coconut flesh. They are not evenly round in circumference.
