There are two ends to its form, one is of a short point that would be the exposed tooth end and the other is either stubbed, tapered or in some cases reveals an open hollow defining the root end of the tooth. A small perforation has been drilled into the root ends of the wiin te kua kewe where te kora has been threaded through. Up to two discs of te nana have been threaded between each individual wiin te kua kewe. A single strand of dark brown human hair has been loosely bound to a small segment of the ornament. Compared to the other sash ornaments it has been paired with, the circumference of the te nana discs reduce near the fastened area of te anibai. Their ethnology card also mentions other terms used to describe te anibai: Te tiena (ornamental scarves crossing over chest of dancer) and te katakuanga.
