    Te kai ni moi. Long handled ladle. A domestic implement made with a half cut te nana (coconut shell), dark brown in colour for the bowl which is lashed with light brown te kora (coconut sennit) to a long wooden handle. The handle has a smooth, matte surface treatment. It is slightly curved in profile and is cylindrical towards the bowl but oval in cross section towards the grip. This kai ni moi would not have been used for everyday use.
