Te tanai. Hafted adze tool. This is an adze blade. It is a component of a tool that would be used to cut or shape a hard material. It has been carved from lambis bryonia otherwise commonly referred to as a spider conch. It is triangular in shape with a natural convex surface. The edge of the blade that makes contact when in use is slightly concave and has been sharpened to a thin edge. The surface is fractured in some areas of cracking with uneven ridging.

The base side is concave. Its is off-white with an underlying yellow tone.
