    Waist ornament of coconut shell discs (English)

    Te katau te nana. Waist ornament. This is made up of two components; te kora (sennit cord) and te nana (coconut shell discs). The coconut shell discs are of its natural dark brown colour and are very small in circumference, thin in depth and has a smooth surface. The discs have been drilled or cut from a larger piece. Each have single perforations in the centre, by which it is threaded tightly onto te kora.
