  • Description

    Te mwae ni wi n aomata. Neck ornament of human teeth. A te mwae (neck ornament) of thirty four wi n aomata (human teeth), each perforated at the root. The wi n aomata are strung onto te kora (coconut sennit) of a light brown colour and interspersed with circular discs of te nana (coconut shell), dark brown in colour. The kora is knotted at each end. Each tooth is off-white and yellowed with age.
