    Pounder (English)

  • Description

    Broken Penu. Stone pounder. This penu (pounder) is worked and smoothed from dark grey ofa'i (stone) but the upper grip portion has been lost and broken off. The remaining base portion is round in section, the shaft flaring out on all sides towards the base which has a slightly convex pounding surface. The rim is chipped all the way around. The penu is grey in colour.
