gloves

human history
  • Kupu whakaahua

pair of bead trimmed gloves. Deerskin leather gloves, with a gauntlet sleeve which has a tapered fringe from outside elbow to wrist. Tops of hand and forearm have been decorated entirely with beads. On the back of hands is a yellow and blue design in sets of three geometric shapes, with white beaded background. The gauntlet part features a floral design in pink, blue, red, yellow and green again with a white background.

On the opposite side of the gauntlet is a similar design to the front, but without the white background, which is left blank and also features a metal bead unlike the front. There is a blue border to mimic the shape on the front.
