Pilgrim’s progress. Maori. Translation of Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress, by Edward Marsh Williams. Annotated by Philip L. B. Williams. Referenced in Bagnall, B1729; Sommerville, A.D. Suppl. to Williams, 1045.
Subject Notes
English author and Baptist preacher John Bunyan (1628-1688) wrote "The Pilgrim's Progress" and some 60 other pious works. This work reveals his spiritual development through allegory. The countryside through which the hero, Christian progresses is a blend of the English countryside, the world of the Bible, and the land of dreams.
