Recollections of an old soldier : Captain W. J. Woodhouse, 2nd NZEF, 24th Battalion

documentary heritage
  • Description

"Whilst "Recollections of an Old Soldier" describes much of what occurred during John's experience in the war, it was written without the benefit of him having access to his diary and letters. These contain some very vivid descriptions of his sights, feelings and emotions of the time. His photographs, papers and other records add another perspective to his story.

With the second edition, I have taken the first edition as John originally wrote it and added in extracts from his diary and his letters home."--preface.
