    Florentin ╔tienne Jaussen, aka Tepano Jaussen. DOB 12 April 1815, Rocles, France. DOD 9 September 1891, Papeete, Tahiti.
    Jaussen was a French Picpucian missionary who was ordained a priest in 1840. In 1848, he was appointed Apostolic Vicar of Tahiti (1848) and arrived in Papeete on 16 February 1849. Jaussen introduced Catholicism into Tahiti and became the first bishop of Tahiti.-- Hierarchy of the Catholic Church.

    *Belin is a French publishing firm established in Paris by Francois Belin in 1777. The company went on to specialise in school textbooks. Eugene Belin was to later rename the firm 'Librarie Classique Eugene Belin.' His heirs published as 'Belin Freres.'
