    • The Second Section of the 4th Reinforcements of 2NZEF (129 officers and 2191 other ranks) embarked at Wellington for the Middle East on December 19 1940, in "Empress of Russia" and "Dominion Monarch" (Shaw Savill LIne). Troops were transferred to "Awatea" (Union Company) and "Aquitania" (Cunard Line) at Sydney and to "Khedive Ismail" at Colombo.
