    • As transports no. 1 & 2 the "Moeraki" and the "Monowai" carried members of the Advance Party of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force to Samoa, departing New Zealand 15 August 1914 and disembarking 29 August 1914. O.C. Troops of the "Moeraki" was Lt.-Col. Fulton and of the "Monowai" Lt.-Col. Turner. Ship's Master of the "Moeraki" was Capt. D. Maclean and of the "Monowai" Capt. H.H. Williams.
