  • Subject Notes
Keith William Drower was born 29 September 1894, at Porangahau, Hawke's Bay. He attested at Trentham on 24 August 1915 and left New Zealand for Egypt with the 8th Reinforcements, serving with 1st Battalion, 3rd New Zealand Rifle Brigade. He was wounded in early December 1917, in France and, on account of this, was eventually discharged on 9 September 1918 as being no longer physically fit for active service. On his return to New Zealand Drower initially took up general farm labouring, and then later farmed on his own account in the Waikato and Bay of Plenty districts. He retired in Auckland, where he died on 31 January 1974, aged 79 years.
Essie, mentioned in the first card (24th November 1917), was Keith Drower's sister.
