    A photocopy of the second volume of MacKenzie's diary. It was written between 11 December 1914 and 1 August 1915. MacKenzie talks of a visit from his Father in late December - Sir Thomas Noble MacKenzie, New Zealand High Commissioner in London 1912-1920. There are no entries in the dairy for January - April and it begins again in May 1915 when leaving Egypt for Cape Helles (the Dardanelles, Turkey).

    Clutha Nantes MacKenzie (service no.: 11/171) embarked on the Main Body from Wellington in October 1914. He was part of the Wellington Mounted Rifles and was blinded at Gallipoli, at the Battle of Hill 60 after Chunuk Bair. He was the editor for the "Chronicles of the NZEF" from 1916 - 1919.
    On return to New Zealand, MacKenzie was a Member of Parliament from 1920-1922 and Director of the Blind Institute (Auckland) from 1923-1938. He was awarded the Knight Bachelor, in 1935, for services to the blind.
