    Harry Kinder (NZ411413) was born [1915]. He came with his parents to New Zealand at the age of four. Educated at Wanganui Collegiate School and King's College, Auckland, he enlisted in the Civil Reserve of Pilots in November, 1937. On the outbreak of war he transferred to the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF). He was awarded the Flying Badge on 5 July 1941 and commissioned as Pilot Officer (Temp) on 16 August 1941.
    In September, 1942, he was stationed with 27 Squadron at Kluang, Johore, flying Blenheims. He returned to New Zealand in May, 1942, following the evacuation from Malaya. On 16 August 1942 he was promoted to Flying Officer. His plane was reported missing off the Wairarapa Coast on 8 December 1942. [Note: Harry Kinder was also known as Peter Kinder]
