    William Bramley was born 12 October 1822 in Bolton, Lancashire in England he moved to New Zealand in 1859, from Auckland he moved to Kaeo with his wife and young children. There he became involved with the school as Head master for ten years, and later in life he focussed on farming. Bramley died in Kaeo 23 January 1907.
