Letter from 'Lessel' Greig, Otahuhu, [Auckland, New Zealand], to Mrs Blackshaw, 6 November 1945

documentary heritage
  • Description

Letter in response to Mrs Blackshaw's letter enquiring after her brother, Captain Rigby, who was also a PoW in Japan. Greig writes that he had met him on their journey north aboard the 'Fukai Maru,' and had played bridge with him in Keijo (Seoul). He goes on to inform her that the 'Keijo party' had gone by air on September 24, through possibly Vancouver and on to England. He concedes that he does not know the exact timeframe nor the craft that took them.
