    This letter, written on behalf of the Central Committee, accompanied documents pertaining to the proceedings of Archdeacon Henry Williams case against the Government over land. Maunsell explained in this letter the severe stance taken by the Committee.

    Maunsell letter is attached to a copy of the questions put to Mr George Clarke, April 1849, regarding his willingness to "resign into the hands of any agent that [the committee] may appoint, all grants for land purchased by [Clarke] or on [his] account, from the native population beyond the maximum of 2560 acres." Following these documents is a copy of the Resolution from the Central Committee regarding the Supreme Court decision on Mr Clarke's obligations under his pledge.
