    Giving notice of the charges brought against him with respect to the Land Question. The CMS forwarding to Williams a collection of papers which were laid before the House of Commons by Mr V Smith.

    Of particular importance, were letters from Joseph Somes of the New Zealand Company, to Mr V Smith which appeared to describe the actions of William Williams, but, as the company goes on to say inferred that Henry Williams was the person spoken of by the Company's agent, and request that he either confirm or deny his part in the charges brought against him. Further, the Society inquired as to what was done with the money Henry Williams withdrew from the Committee.
