George Clarke (1798-1875) was a missionary, teacher, politician, and judge. He immigrated to New Zealand in 1824, where he and his wife started a school for Maori children, co-founded the Waimate mission, and managed the CMS model farm at Waimate. Clarke also acted as secretary of the CMS between 1831 and 1839.
