Marianne Davies (nee Williams 1820-1919) was the first daughter and second child of Henry and Marianne Williams. She married Christopher Pearson Davies in 1843, a surgeon who would assist her family in their missionary work throughout New Zealand. The couple were primarily stationed in Opotiki, where they assisted in the elementary and infant schools. Later they moved to Paihia where Christopher continued his work as a doctor
