documentary heritage
  • Description

Regarding the report published in the Sydney Morning Herald about the tragic attack on the 'Mary' and slaughter of Captain Rabey and his crew. Fitzroy also writes of the circumstances in which his own vessel narrowly escaped floundering during his recent and most unfortunate trip to New Caledonia. During this expedition he had hoped to retrieve a shipment of coconut oil in order to square off some outstanding debts.
