Letter from Catherine Heathcote to her sister-in-law Jane Williams, 2 July 1831

documentary heritage
  • Description

Written in two separately dated instalments, the second being 25 August 1831, detailing their friends' private domestic lives and the health of family members. Heathcote briefly makes reference to the conflicts in Europe, specifically those surrounding Switzerland [perhaps the Tens Days Campaign] which has caused one of her teachers to depart for America rather than the Swiss Alps.

Finally, Heathcote expresses her joy that Jane and her new child [Thomas Williams] are recovering well.
