Subject Notes
Catherine Heathcote (nee Williams) was the fifth daughter of Thomas Williams and Mary Marsh. Catherine ran the girls school at Elmfield House in Southwell started by her mother. She contributed generously to the mission efforts of her brothers giving 700 English pounds toward the building of the Maori boys school at Te Aute and a similar sum for the girls school at Hukarere.
