    Provenance: This collection of papers appears to have been given to the Museum Library sometime prior to 1967, when an audit of the manuscripts collection records its presence. The donor was the son of Mackechnie's former business partner.

    Letters from Elizabeth C. Chamberlin to E.A. Mackechnie and Eva Laing. The Chamberlin letters are not dated but fall between 1869 and 1888. They deal mainly with her social life, particularly while she was in Wellington during sessions of Parliament. Her husband was a member of the Legislative Council. (Box 10, Item 58)
