documentary heritage
  • Description

Williams begins by thanking Mr Cotton for sending the Epistle. He then moves to discuss the arrival of the H.M.S Flying Fish, and her capture by Maori in Wanganui. Williams then writes on the movements of the Governments Army. He includes their march through an easterly gale and heavy rain to Kerikeri and 'up the Waikari', where they found Repa Rewa Mohi Tawai. He writes that after burning the Pa, the army retreated.

Finally, Williams writes of his eagerness to meet with the Bishop upon his return.
