Letter from Mary Williams to Henry Williams, October 6, 1824

documentary heritage
  • Description

Mrs Williams writes of her son's departure for New Zealand, an event which she was shocked came about before she had received one final letter from him. She contemplates their growing separation and writes "That we no longer inhabit the same quarter of the globe, that you are getting every day further from me, that we are never likely to meet again in this world, are painful reflections.

" Mrs Williams goes on to write of her school house, her finances, and of how her every day was crowded with blessings. Mrs Williams also shares with Henry the recent activities of her daily life, as well as news from their friends and family at Hampstead.
