    Regarding the affairs and success of Catherine Leake, who had left the Williams family and gone to work as a Governess for the Akerman family. Mrs Williams goes on to write of the gifts she received from New Zealand, which arrived in a carved box at the Missionary House. The parcel included white feathers, long dried leaves, and "a New Zealand ornament.

    " She goes on to share with the Williams the recent activities of her daily life, as well as news from their friends and family, and details of their domestic and private lives. In particular she writes of Mrs Watson who was expecting her sister back from India, Mrs George Hodgkinson, Annie, Mrs Cotterill's brother and his five children.
