    Thomas S. Williams writes to his brother of the domestic and private lives of their friends and family. He writes of the joy of being a grandparent, and briefly about his work. He praises William for his study of Te Reo Maori. Finally, he asks after and requests to see Williams letter to Lord Chichester as well as his reply to the Secretaries and their answer, both on the matter of the Land Question. Edward Gerrard Marsh's pamphlet on the same subject is also mentioned.
