Letter from Thomas Sydney Williams to William Williams, Bayswater, August 10, 1859

documentary heritage
  • Description

Thomas S. Williams begins his letter in earnest praise of his brothers "Christian and Philanthropic labours among the simple and intelligent people by whom [he is] surrounded." Williams goes on to write of the domestic and private lives of their friends and family. In particular, he asks after his nephew Leonard Williams, as well as Octavius Hadfield.

He then writes from the "giddy precipice" of the Welsh mountains, where he and his wife Caroline had gone for a 'change of air.' He recounts their journey and daily activities.
