    In this letter, thirteen year old Thomas S. Williams, writes to his sister Jane E. Williams. He gives a day by day account of a recent sailing to Auckland and back to Turanga. On their journey they landed the Barkers at Wairua, went around the East Cape, and saw White Island. They were also joined by Mr and Mrs Chapman, and Marsh Brown and went as far as Mercury Island.
