    Pamphlet titled "Sydney Exhibition, 1879". Contains a description of the pen-and-ink drawing "Leisure Hours," by Mr. Harry C.W. Wrigg, Chief Draftsman, Public Works Department, New Zealand. Exhibited by William Sefton Moorhouse, Esq., M.H.R. Printed in Wellington by Lyon and Blair, 1879.

    Originally, "Leisure Hours" was exhibited in the window of William Lyon's store on Lambton Quay, Wellington, and later exhibited in Sydney, Australia, in 1879. This description consists of extracts from the following newspapers: 'Daily Southern Cross', 28 December 1870 and 17 January 1871; 'New Zealand Herald', 28 and 29 December 1870; 'Evening Post', 2 August 1872; 'Wellington Independent', 2 August 1872; 'Evening Chronicle', 4 July 1878; and 'New Zealand Times', 3 July 1879. Although no image is presented with the description, in his drawing Wrigg depicted 'the leading English journals of the world', such as 'The Times', 'Illustrated London News', and 'Punch', interleaved with colonial newspapers 'Argus', 'Melbourne Punch', and the 'Evening Post', amongst other items such as letters, blotting paper, envelopes, stamps, playing cards, dominoes, and a one pound note from the Bank of New Zealand.
