Marianne Williams (nee Coldham - 1793-1879) was the wife of Archdeacon Henry Williams. Marianne was born in 1793 at Yorkshire, England and was the daughter of Wright Coldham, Sheriff of Nottingham, and Anne Temple. Marianne trained as a maternity nurse and studied the Moravarian Methods of teaching and organisation. In 1822, she immigrated alongside her husband and their three children to New Zealand. Marianne was involved in the establishment and running of the mission schools, and provided care for those in the mission afflicted with illness.
