    (A) -- Hand-folded envelope with the following Latin inscription: "Judex, in propria causa Aliquis esse non potest." (Adapted from the legal term: "Aliquis non debet esse judex in propria causa, quia non potest esse judex et pars.", or "A person ought not to be judge in his own cause, because he cannot act as judge and party.")

    (B) -- Calling card (inside envelope) - "Mr. Arthur G. Purchas.", dates to an approximate period from between 1839 and 1842, when Purchas was still undergoing his medical training.
