    Folder 2 -- Obituary notices; two from 'The Observer' and one from the 'New Zealand Herald' (Bourne died 10 March 1924); correspondence between Ngaire Morgan (nee Bourne) and Ian Thwaites regarding the donation of aforementioned papers; "Te Tohunga" (Vol. 2, No. 3, April 1924).

    George Bourne was born in Whanganui. In about 1902 Bourne started working for the 'Weekly News' as one of its photographic artists and travelled throughout New Zealand for the next twenty years in that capacity. He pioneered aerial photography through his friends the Walsh brothers and is also known for his comic photo montages and for his series portraying the Māori prophet Rua Kenana and his newly built community at Maungapōhatu in 1908.
